Megacity Design Lab has been working on informal settlement research at Kampung Cikini, Jakarta, Indonesia (from 2011) and Ecuador, Latin America (from 2016). Under the supervision of Professor Akiko Okabe from The University of Tokyo, After Fire Project is widen the perspective of idea in dealing with socio-cultural environmental issues in informal settlements with architectural approach. Academia, practicioners, and students from Japanese universities, Indonesian universities, and Latin America universities are actively collaborating the ideas.
